Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the factors associated with employment and life satisfaction of occupationally injured people depending on their status in terms of return to work. Using the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled of 2008, the target population were grouped by return to original workplace, quit the job voluntarily, and quit the job involuntarily. Independent variables included demographic factors and health-related factors. Dependent variables were current employment status and overall life satisfaction score. Multiple logistic regression and linear regression analyses were used. The empirical results show that the employment and life satisfaction were more favorable to the group who had returned to their original workplace. Health-related factors such as higher ICF(International Classification of Functioning, Disability & Health) score and self-rated health had positive effect on their employment and life satisfaction. For persons with work-related disabilities, social security systems such as employment protection and public health programs as well as rehabilitation programs would be needed to improve their quality of life.
